Most of this trail coincides with the Lawn Lake trail, which is largely a long slog through forest with only occasional glimpses of scenery. Beyond Lawn Lake, the trail rises up from the east end of the lake, first traversing through forest before an increasing number of meadowy areas often rich in flowers. A brief rise through tundra (with views over Lawn Lake) brings you to the junction with The Saddle trail; turning left, the trail returns to flower gardens and streams below the lakes before wandering around tarns and knobs before finally reaching the outlet. The trail is present but occasionally obscure in this last part of the hike.
