🏑 Description

Currahee Mountain Trail is a 5.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Toccoa, Georgia that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs and horses are also able to use this trail. Notably used by the 506th PIR (as well as other units) for training prior to action in World War Two, Currahee (meaning “stand alone” in Cherokee) was used as both for conditioning runs, as well as the regiment’s motto of, “we stand alone.” 3 miles up, 3 miles down!
